Namco & CyberConnect2 making Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle game


Fans of the manga series Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure have alot of reason to rejoice since Namco is releasing a new fighting game for the series. More information was revealed about this new manga fighting game at Tokyo Game Show 20122D fighting game enthusiasts may remember Capcom’s excellent Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting game that was released in arcades on their CPS3 hardware (the same as Street Fighter 3) and enjoyed console ports on the Playstation and Dreamcast. This new game called “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle” seems to follow the current trend for fighters, going with 2.5D graphics and gameplay. It is being developed by CyberConnect2, a studio well experienced in manga & anime adaptions. They’ve previously worked on various Naruto titles but also AAA games like Capcom’s Asura’s Wrath.

So far, it has only been announced for Japanese release in 2013. No US release date has been set yet. Although Namco Bandai has registered the trademark for All Star Battle for use with video games in the United States which leaves a lot of hope for the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle US release. Furthermore, it appears to be a Playstation 3 exclusive title so far. Good news for fans of the original anime and manga is that this ties in with a new Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime called “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: The Animation” which is scheduled for an October release (in Japan).
