Latest 2D Epic from Vanillaware & Atlus Gets Release Date

Dragon’s Crown is the latest game from Japanese developer Vanillaware. Some of you may already know them from Odin Sphere on PS2 and Muramasa: The Demon Blade on the Wii. Dragon’s Crown features beautifully illustrated 2D graphics, with each sprite looking like a little painting, which is form for Vanillaware. Fans of classic beat’em ups like Golden Axe, Guardian Warriors and Final Fight will be celebrating because there just aren’t a lot of these games made anymore. This game take it a step further by adding RPG elements and 4 player gameplay. Furthermore, it’s said to offer online gameplay in addition to big boss fights.

Check out this old gameplay trailer for Demon’s Crown. It’s from E3 2011 and since then the game’s changed publishers, but you can see how promising it looks…

Dragon’s Crown was announced a couple years ago but now has a release date of June 30, 2013. It’s being published by Atlas and will be released for Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita.
