The Wii U, although adored by many Nintendo fans has not impressed business analysts with it’s initial sales. Ubisoft, a publisher who has promised to support the Wii U, is doing so in the form of Rayman Legends and Watch Dogs. Both games are highly anticipated and multiplatform. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says, “We think Wii U is a great machine. But it just has to sell more.”
A simple and fair statement from a CEO’s perspective. What is holding the Wii U back? Was it the under production of units during holiday season 2012 that caused many consumers to “miss the boat” or is it the lack of compelling software support? Possibly both, but 2013 will be Nintendo’s year to prove itself before the oncoming PS4 and the next Xbox.
Watch Dogs PS4 gameplay video (just lower it to 480p to simulate Wii U graphics… Just kidding!)
