Gunpla is the Japanese word for Mobile Suit Gundam model kit making and playing. It’s expensive; it’s time consuming. What could make this better? Apparently Bandai decided that playing with Gundam models virtually is the next step. At Tokyo Game Show 2012, Namco Bandai announced its new Gundam video game… Gundam Breaker.
Check out this Gundam Breaker trailer, which includes some gameplay video, taken at TGS 2012…
As you can see in the video, the game will let you fight with various mecha, or mobile suits, from different Gundam series including the fan favorites Mobile Suit Gundam and Gundam Wing. It also looks like the game takes into account the fact that there are different size and quality Gundam model kits… Master Grade, Perfect Grade etc… Some of the gameplay video indicates that you will be fighting against some of the larger scale Gundam models. The gameplay looks similar to previous Gundam games that were developed with Capcom such as Gundam Federation Vs Zeon.
There is no US or Japanese release date announced yet. Gundam Breakers has been announced for release on PS3 and Playstation Vita. We will keep a close eye on this one.
