Valve’s Steam finally started selling commercial software on their website. The good news? It’s creative related software ranging from 3D painting to game design tools.
Here’s the list of software on Steam so far…
ArtRage Studio Pro
In Steam’s press release they go on to say…
Many of the launch titles will take advantage of popular Steamworks features, such as easy installation, automatic updating, and the ability to save your work to your personal Steam Cloud space so your files may travel with you.
GameMaker Studio, for example, features integration with Steam Workshop that allows GameMaker users to share their work via Steam.
We think this is an exciting and cool way for gamers to learn about game design and have a good resource find the appropriate software. Plus the integration of game development software with the biggest online game store is amazing. Good work Steam.
