After a long wait for many fans, Bungie (the creators of Halo) officially revealed their upcoming AAA game, Destiny. Unsurprisingly, it’s an FPS. Although from what we can tell by the game’s description is that it features a persistant online world. Furthermore, it looks like there will also be character creation. Bungie announced there will also be a single player campaign in addition to multiplayer modes. Part of the “always connected” game world will also include social interaction with players, potentially through their phone and social networks.

While Destiny doesn’t have an official release date yet the Amazon product page for it says December 31, 2013. This typically means it could be early 2014 or late 2013. Destiny is being released for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3Destiny is being developed by Bungie, the creators of the Halo series and Marathon series, and is being published by Activision. It is available for pre-order now.
