CD Projekt RED says that The Witcher 3 is officially DRM-Free

The open world action RPG The Witcher 3 was confirmed to be DRM-Free by developer CD Projekt RED. The studio is apparently trying to away from DRM completely. Game designer Maciej Szczesnik stated, “We are trying to get rid of DRM. If someone wants to pirate a game, eventually he will.” Adam Badowski, the managing director, then added, “Which is bad, of course, but you can’t do anything about it, so. We want to give the best user experience possible. When we removed DRM, people on those torrents were actually asking people not to download our game, because we weren’t using DRM.”

In the case of DRM, it seems CD Projekt RED is correct. Mostly on the fact that they already have had a positive response, as stated above. I still think someone who obviously steals a developer’s game and plays it for free is a total sh*t head and pretty much a loser; I don’t think my opinion will be changing any time soon either. I’m curious to see if this title gets less torrenting though..

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to be released in 2014 on PC, PlayStation 4 and other next-gen platforms.
