There’s been a lot of chatter about Hideo Kojima and the future of Metal Gear. Kojima will be at PAX 2012 hosting a panel about the past, present and future of Metal Gear. Hopefully some news about Metal Gear Solid 5 will be mentioned. Although many fans are excited about Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, some fans are dissappointed by the fact that is not part of the core “Solid” series and furthermore by the fact that it is being developed by Platinum Games (albeit with guidance from Kojima Productions). Kojima will speak at PAX on Saturday, September 1st at 1:00 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle.
A beacon of hope shines through as an interview with Eric Bossic, a motion capture actor, surfaces. He speaks about a secret upcoming Metal Gear game which is not Rising. Presumably Metal Gear Solid 5, although there has been no official confirmation which game he is speaking of…
“My past motion capture session was for an upcoming Metal Gear game, I will be back with Kojima again in the fall, and maybe other sessions. This title is a long way off.” “I am working on a future metal gear, not to be released until next year summer at the earliest, if not later then that. Im doing motion capture only.” “I can 100% say my voice will not be involved in this. I dont even know what the title is, they are all very secretive and sometimes even the scenes I act out I dont even know the full story, because they want to keep it secret.” “I suppose it is fine to mention I am working on it, everybody knows Kojima is making something now, and I posted the photo on my page here with him. The only thing is that I cant ever answer any questions about it or talk about, not for sometime.”This basically tells us there will be a new MGS, which we all expected anyway. It also could mean that Metal Gear Solid 5’s release date will be sometime in 2013… but we all know how that goes.
In related news, Konami and Kojima Productions also updated Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to include PlayStation Trophies in conjunction with the series’ 25th anniversary.
