In a surprising and unusual move for Capcom, the gaming giant announced that they will be releasing a new game for free on December 17th, 2012. The game? Street Fighter X Mega Man. You read that right. It’s an all new Mega Man game created in the classic 8 bit style where you fight boss versions of characters from Capcom’s iconic Street Fighter series. Interestingly, it will be released as a PC download. No word yet on Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii downloads at this time.

The game will feature 8 Street Fighter bosses including Ryu, Chun Li, Blanka, Rolento and Dhalsim. It will also include 8 new weapons. The game will mark the 25th Anniversary of the Mega Man series as well continue the celebration for the 25th anniversary of Street Fighter.
You will be able to download Street Fighter X Mega Man for free at the Capcom Unity Mega Man Page. It’s release date is December 17th, 2012.
