The latest fighting game to come from the Mortal Kombat creators, Netherrealm Studios, pits legendary DC Comics characters against each other. We got to try out Injustice: Gods Among Us and are pleased to say the combat is fun and frenetic. The combat closely resembles the 2009 Mortal Kombat reboot, and thats a good thing. It means moves are snappy and plays a lot like a classic 2D fighter. There are some new gameplay additions which definitely add to the superhero feel of the game. Things like throwing a dumpster at an opponent, or grabbing a neon building sign and tossing it. The character balance accounts for each characters own strengths, for example Batman pushes the dumpster where as the super human characters like Wonder Woman will actually pick it up and throw it, destroying the object. There are also multiple sections to stages which can be accessed by strong moves that blow characters through walls. We’ve got to admit, running someone over with the Bat Mobile is pretty awesome. Injustice: Gods Among Us looks to be one of the best fighting games of 2013 already.
We’ve also compiled a list of playable characters in Injustice: Gods Among Us:
- Aquaman
- Ares
- Bane
- Batman
- Black Adam
- Catwoman
- Cyborg
- Deathstroke
- Doomsday
- The Flash
- Green Arrow
- Green Lantern
- Harley Quinn
- Hawkgirl
- The Joker
- Killer Frost
- Lex Luthor
- Nightwing
- Raven
- Shazam
- Sinestro
- Solomon Grundy

Some other cool features include various minigames ranging from side scrolling shmups to QTE style matching games. This should add a considerable amount of replay value and variety to the gameplay, something Netherrealm Studios has always been good at.
