The new stealth action RPG Dishonored was release about 2 days ago for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. You may recall our previous coverage and hands-on of the game from what we played at Quakecon 2012. The game, which was developed by Arkane Studios, has earned a lot of positive reviews from critics and fans alike. With almost unanimous celebration of its gameplay and highly enjoyable story, Dishonored looks to be a clear and cut hit. Another notch in Bethesda’s belt.
In an interview with Kotaku, Dishonored director Harvey Smith said, “I’ve been at a lot of publishers. I’ve worked in games for 18 years. I’ve worked independently at times; I’ve worked in big teams, small teams. And I can honestly tell you, no smoke, that this is the smartest group of executives I’ve ever worked with.” Harvey Smith and the Arkane team had a specific vision of Dishonored. A thrilling single player experience. Bethesda met with them and discussed the game’s focus and agreed to let them go 100% into creating the most in depth single player game they could make. And you know what? It’s good that they did.
Dishonored Launch Trailer….
The PC version currently has a Metacritic rating of 91% with a user rating of 88%. Pretty big numbers, so big in fact that only 3 other Bethesda games have ratings in the 90s, those being The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3.
