In an interview with GameSpot, Quantic Dream founder, David Cage, has confirmed that work on its next generation PlayStation 4 title is being worked on already. Quantic Dream’s PlayStation 4 game will up hold the developer’s importance on narrative. However, Quantic Dream isn’t talking about what else to expect in the game, yet. David Cage does say that the new Playstation 4 title is “incredibly exciting, it’s one of the strongest concepts we’ve had at Quantic Dream and we’re really excited about it.” Since Quantic Dream partially developed Beyond: Two Souls’ engine on the PlayStation 4, they already have a head start compared to other studios. David Cage informed Gamespot,“Because of our relationship with Sony we had access to development kits on PlayStation 4 very early on, we started developing [Beyond’s] engine on PlayStation 4 with crazy features that were usually reserved to CG films. We were implementing them on PlayStation 4 thinking that it would already be a challenge, which it was, but at the same time we realised that some of these features could be implemented on PlayStation 3.”
The founder of Quantic Dream then said “it’s the engine of the next game. It’s the technology. It’s not a character from the next game but it is the technology we’re going to use.” He was speaking of the tech demo that was revealed during the announcement of the PlayStation 4. Last month David Cage also said that he already has his next 3 games in mind, “It’s great because I have more ideas than I can develop.” This week Quantic Dream has also unveiled even more about Beyond: Two Souls giving plenty of details to the upcoming Quantic Dream masterpiece. Beyond: Two Souls’ release date for PlayStation 3 is October 8, 2013.
