You hear people toss around the phrase “cult classic” often, but few films have earned this title like The Evil Dead. Directed by Sam Raimi… Starring a young and unknown Bruce Cambpell (as Ash), The Evil Dead tells the story of a group of friends who go out on vacation to a cabin. After playing some audio tapes which recite phrases from the book of the dead left by the previous tenant (an archaeologist), shit really hits the fan. Evil spirits posess all of Ash’s friends and he pretty much needs to fend for himself. The Evil Dead gets weird (tentacles) but awesome.

Beyond film, The Evil Dead has also lived on through video games. Unfortunately, they’re not great video games, but they’re also not terrible… The Evil Dead video games have been released for Commodore 64, Playstation, Dreamcast, PS2, and Xbox, along with a few mobile games for iOS and Android.
