Skyrim may be old news to many of you, but for some gamers it’s still actively being played, in large part due to community mods (and because it’s awesome). With that said, PC gamers already enjoy the best looking version of the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but that wasn’t enough for some gamers.

Behold Skyrim running on a PC with Ultra Settings, some ini changes and the RealVision ENB V1.3 Climates of Tamriel mod. This is truly great looking and gives even Crysis 3 a run for it’s money. (Heads Up: there’s quite a bit of chain mail bikini going on in the first 3 mins, which will likely please most of you out there.)

The creator of the video, SkyrimTuner, breaks it down for you. You need the RealVision ENB mod. You also need to tune up your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini. Then just max out all the graphics settings in the game. Finally, you need a rig that can handle it. This demo was recorded in 1080p on a pretty powerful gaming PC. Check out the specs below…

Intel i5-2500K@4,3GHz
NVidia GTX 680 OC GPU Boost @ 1200MHz
16GB DDR3
120GB SSD for Win7 64
60GB SSD for Skyrim
1TB HD 7200rpm

Overall, it’s a very good PC, but things get bigger and better since he over clocked the GPU and CPU. And oh yeah, a dedicated SSD just for Skyrim

Redditor, lbcyber, made a post last month on reddit regarding the depression he experienced after his sister’s death. He said that Bethesda Softwork’s Skyrim allowed him to cope with the loss by offering him a world to escape in. He created a happy life for his character in the open world of Skyrim, which ultimately helped him feel better. The good folks over at Bethesda caught wind of this and decided to hook him up with a special gift. Incredibly, they sent him a high quality Skyrim art book, signed by the whole Bethesda Softwork’s team behind Skyrim.

Check out the awesome photos below…

Welcome to Cover Art! A section of the site where we look at a retro video game’s box cover art and briefly discuss it’s gameplay and legacy.

We’re all in the love with the world of Skyrim, but I think what some forget is that it comes from a long heritage of breakthrough RPG’s. The Elder Scrolls Area was the first in the series and way back upon its release in 1994, it too was considered a great game. It was one of Bethesda Softworks first big titles.

A classic first person perspective RPG, The Elder Scrolls Arena rocked floppy disks inside of  DOS computers and eventually CD-ROMs. With hundreds of dungeons and towns, wilderness to explore and many NPC’s and enemies The Elder Scrolls Arena set the standard for computer RPG’s to come.

We got our hands-on with Dishonored, Bethesda’s new game, being developed by Arkane Studios.

You play an assassin on his quest for revenge, and basically you get your revenge however you decide to. You can be a maniac going guns blazing, you can be a clean and efficient stealth assassin taking only the life of the target, or go anywhere in between. The game supplies you with various weapons and abilities, and let you decide how you’ll go about completing the mission, with an almost infinite number of ways to do it, everyone will have their own answer to even the most simple tasks in this game.

This game is by far one of the most well made stealth/action games I’ve ever seen. It allows for so much user input with very little of the automation that seems to be over taking games lately. For example, when you jump over a bannister or climb a wall, the animation and movement feels very natural. It’s dialog is interesting, and the voice acting doesn’t feel forced. The game handles smoothly and feels very responsive. The enemy AI is amazing… you can turn it up to the highest difficulty, to the point where you really do have to think tactically.

I see Dishonored as having a strong possibility of winning game of the year.  I admit I was a skeptic at first, but after really getting my hands on it, I realize just how special this game really is. So look forward to Dishonored, when it hits the shelves on its release date of October 9th 2012.
