Thanks to a host of server issues with the internet required SimCity (2013) reboot, EA is putting a hold on advertising for the highly anticipated game. Servers being added, patches and features being disabled are some of things that are happening with SimCity. Players are complaining and requesting refunds constantly because they’re unable to sign on and play the game. Even Amazon is disabling the downloadable version of the game intermittently, so you can’t even purchase it on their site sometimes.
EA issued a statement to it’s affiliate advertisers saying, “To be clear we are continuing to payout commissions on all SimCity sales that are referred, however we are requesting that you please stop actively promoting the game,” the email reads. “We will notify you as soon as the SimCity marketing campaigns have been resumed and our promotional links are once again live in the Linkshare interface. We apologize for any inconveniences that this may cause, and we thank you for your cooperation.”
To add insult to injury, the SimCity now has a 1 star rating on mega retailer Amazon.
