Welcome to Cover Art! A section of the site where we look at a retro video game’s box cover art and briefly discuss it’s gameplay and legacy.

Wing War was developed by Imagic, a somewhat popular developer in the 80′s. They released Wing War for several systems including Colecovision and Atari 2600 in 1983. As you can guess, you play a dragon in the game.

In Wing War, you play a dragon who needs to capture a diamond. In order to do that you need to collect crystals, which then form into a super crystal unlocking areas for you to find the diamond. It may not sound like much, but it’s actually a pretty cool game with rather impressive level design and graphics, considering the time.

Although Jason Voorhees has been in 12 films, he’s only officially been in about 2 games. Today we present you with Friday The 13th for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was developed by Pack-In-Video, that Japanese developer who brought us other such NES gems like Die Hard, Predator, Rambo and Terminator 2… Right. Friday the 13th for NES was released in 1989.

Friday the 13th doesn’t have the best reputation… It received poor reviews upon release and since then has been included in various lists for bad games. Magazines and sites including IGN, Gamepro Nintendo Power, and Games Radar have all included it in lists as one of the worst games ever.

Hey everybody,

Imagine walking into a modern game store and asking to buy this…

Yeah…. That’s embarrassing.. although still slightly less suspect than buying a game with a young boy in tights and go-go boots.

Megaman is now officially in a new versus game! Street Fighter X Tekken! As an exclusive to PS Vita and PS 3, along with a bunch of other characters including Pac-Man in a Mokujin Mechsuit…. I swear I’m not making this sh!t up, I really couldn’t if I tried. But specifically, its Digger… aka Megaman from the first cover art….. Yeah…….

Kinda cool I guess, but seriously Capcom… WTF? Anyway, get the full info on all the PS exclusives here on the SxT site.
